(26 มีนาคม 2568)นายก้องเกียรติ เต็มตำนาน ผู้อำนวยการสำนักบริหารพื้นที่อนุรักษ์ที่ 2 (ศรีราชา) เปิดเผยว่า​ ตามที่ได้รับรายงานจากหัวหน้าเขตรักษาพันธุ์สัตว์ป่าเขาอ่างฤๅไน เมื่อวันที่ 25 มีนาคม 2568​ กรณีพบช้างป่าเพศผู้ที่ได้รับบาดเจ็บบริเวณขาหน้าด้านขวา ล่าสุดเจ้าหน้าที่จากสำนักบริหารพื้นที่อนุรักษ์ที่ 2 (ศรีราชา) พร้อมด้วยทีมสัตวแพทย์และหน่วยงานท้องถิ่นเร่งให้ความช่วยเหลือช้างป่าแล้ว

ทีมสัตวแพทย์นำโดยนายสิรวิชญ์ ทรัพย์เอนก นายสัตวแพทย์ปฏิบัติการ ร่วมกับเจ้าหน้าที่จากศูนย์ช่วยเหลือสัตว์ป่าที่ 2 (กระบกคู่) เจ้าหน้าที่ฝ่ายจัดการสุขภาพสัตว์ประจำสำนักบริหารพื้นที่อนุรักษ์ที่ 2 (ศรีราชา) และเจ้าหน้าที่ อบต. คลองตะเกรา ได้ทำการค้นหาและติดตามช้างป่าที่บาดเจ็บตั้งแต่เวลา 13.00 น.

จนกระทั่งเวลา 18.00 น. ทีมงานพบช้างป่าเป้าหมายซึ่งเป็นช้างเพศผู้ อายุประมาณ 7-12 ปี มีงา 1 คู่ สูงประมาณ 2 เมตร น้ำหนักประมาณ 2,000-3,000 กิโลกรัม ที่มีอาการเดินกะเผลก ช้างป่าตัวนี้มีชื่อว่า “พลายงางาม” จากการตรวจสอบพบความผิดปกติบริเวณฝ่าเท้าและข้อเท้าหลังด้านขวา มีอาการบวม อักเสบเรื้อรัง และผิวหนังบริเวณฝ่าเท้าแตก มีเลือดและน้ำเหลืองไหลซึมออกมาตลอดเวลา

เนื่องจากช้างป่าแสดงพฤติกรรมหวาดระแวงและมีความเครียด ทีมสัตวแพทย์จึงประเมินว่ามีความเสี่ยงอันตรายทั้งต่อตัวช้างและเจ้าหน้าที่ในการวางยาซึมเพื่อดำเนินการรักษาระยะประชิด จึงตัดสินใจรักษาโดยยิงยาลดอักเสบ (Meloxicam) จำนวน 2 เข็ม และยาฆ่าเชื้อ (Ceftiofur) จำนวน 1 เข็ม เมื่อเวลา 21.30 น. และ 22.00 น. ตามลำดับ

นายก้องเกียรติ เต็มตำนาน ผู้อำนวยการสำนักบริหารพื้นที่อนุรักษ์ที่ 2 (ศรีราชา) กล่าวเพิ่มเติมว่า หลังจากการรักษาเบื้องต้น ได้มอบหมายให้ชุดเคลื่อนที่เร็วเฝ้าระวังช้างป่าชุดที่ 2 ติดตามสังเกตอาการช้างป่าอย่างใกล้ชิด พร้อมทั้งได้สั่งการให้ทีมสัตวแพทย์และเจ้าหน้าที่ที่เกี่ยวข้องเตรียมพร้อมให้การช่วยเหลือและติดตามอาการของช้างป่าอย่างต่อเนื่อง

ทั้งนี้ กรณีพบลูกช้างป่าเพศผู้อีกตัวหนึ่ง อายุประมาณ 5-6 ปี ที่มีอาการบาดเจ็บที่ขาหลัง บริเวณสวนป่าคลองตะเกรา ตำบลคลองตะเกรา อำเภอท่าตะเกียบ จังหวัดฉะเชิงเทรา ซึ่งอยู่นอกเขตพื้นที่อนุรักษ์​นั้น​ สำนักบริหารพื้นที่อนุรักษ์ที่ 2 (ศรีราชา) ได้สั่งการให้ชุดเฝ้าระวังติดตามสังเกตอาการและรายงานให้สัตวแพทย์ทราบอย่างต่อเนื่อง โดยจะเข้าพื้นที่เพื่อประเมินอาการและวางแผนการรักษาต่อไป
