ต่อมาเจ้าหน้าที่ทราบว่า นายสมศักดิ์ ผู้ต้องหารายนี้ เป็นกรรมการผู้จัดการของบริษัทมาหลบซ่อนตัวอยู่ในพื้นที่ อ.ธัญบุรี จ.ปทุมธานี จึงเข้าจับกุมตัวดังกล่าว จากการสอบสวน นายสมศักดิ์ ให้การปฏิเสธ จึงนำตัวส่งพนักงานสอบสวน กก.2 บก.ปอศ. ดำเนินคดี
